The Story

The narrative goes that Los Angeles culture moved east. The Westside did change. Its cultural life didn't disappear. It evolved.

We started looking closely at what's here — and what's emerging — and identified more than 300 artists, galleries, museums, institutions, architectural landmarks and cultural organizations across the Westside. And we're still looking.

What emerged wasn't an absence of culture. It was a problem of visibility: one cultural ecosystem, rarely experienced as one.
